IPL group (comprised of Innovative Products Ltd & OMNI Instruments Ltd) is a customer-focused, innovative, value-driven organisation. We design, manufacture, and supply infrastructure products, services, and solutions to customers worldwide. Since our establishment in 1975, high-quality innovative products, creative engineered solutions, excellent customer service, and socially responsible business practices have defined our organisation.
IPL group values safety above all. We recognise the profound benefits of ensuring the wellbeing of our employees, as well as incorporating safety into our product design, solutions, and service delivery. We adhere to the established hierarchy of hazard controls and strive to prioritise safety in everything we do. This commitment extends to the care of all people affected by our work and those who will inherit its outcomes, including our employees, partners, visitors, contractors, and customers.
Our Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Policy is driven by this fundamental aim. It conveys our dedication to providing safe and healthy workplaces, preventing accidents, work-related injuries, and ill health, and proactively improving our OH&S performance. Under the leadership of our senior management, Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental control are integrated into an Integrated Management System (IMS). This system is designed to ensure that we identify, understand, and consistently meet customer requirements as well as all applicable statutory and regulatory obligations.
All crucial processes at IPL group operate within our IMS framework and our established Occupational Health & Safety Management System, which is certified in accordance with the ISO 45001:2018 standard. Our OH&S management system has evolved with our organisation's growth and is based on:
Assessing risks and opportunities;
Implementing and measuring health and safety objectives, with a focus on continual improvement in the way we plan, manage, and carry out our work.
Our OH&S management system applies to our daily activities and is a trusted method for achieving IPL group's strategic goals. This policy is reviewed and updated within this context, and the scope of our certification is aligned with our core business: "design, manufacture, supply and service of infrastructure products for utilities, environmental and industrial sectors."
The Board of Directors, Senior Management, and Staff of IPL group are fully committed to our OH&S management system and this policy. We aim to:
Effective Planning: Maintain consistent good planning by management. This involves setting, checking, and updating OH&S objectives. We measure the effectiveness of our OH&S management system against changing circumstances, legal compliance, customer requirements, external certification reviews, and internal audits. Our constant goal is improved OH&S performance, focusing on safe and healthy working conditions, the elimination of hazards, reduction of risks, and prevention of work-related injury and ill health.
Risk-Based Thinking: Implement risk-based thinking and emergency preparedness. We analyse key activities and opportunities, using evidence-based decision-making to ensure all critical IPL group processes are established, documented, appropriately resourced, and monitored to meet their intended results.
Stakeholder Relationships: Promote mutually beneficial relationships with all interested parties, including customers and suppliers. This helps us to better understand their requirements and interdependent processes to ensure legal compliance and proactive improvement of OH&S performance.
Team Competency: Utilise qualified consultation, build our team's competency levels, and support individual expertise and professional experience through effective recruitment, mentoring, personnel training, skill development, and promotion.
Individual Responsibility: Ensure all IPL group employees understand their legal responsibility and accept safety as an individual duty and a prerequisite in the planning of all activities, to safeguard their own welfare and that of others.
Participatory Safety Culture: Maintain a participatory safety culture where all IPL group personnel advance the organisation's OH&S objectives. Everyone is responsible for the aspects of the OH&S management system under their control and for ensuring compliance with standards, codes of best practice, as well as legislative, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Policy Application and Review: Ensure our OH&S management system and this policy are applicable to all jurisdictions in which we operate. We will ensure it is communicated, understood, and applied by all relevant parties, reviewed annually, and amended and re-issued as necessary to maintain its relevance and effectiveness.
