The Academy Street / Half Moon Street retail development is a landmark project, representing one of the largest city centre shopping complexes ever opened in Ireland. It was the first time in 200 years that a new retail and residential street was developed in Cork city centre, marking a significant urban renewal project that reshaped three entire blocks of Cork’s historic city centre.
