IPL group’s Retention System™ sockets were used to install passively safe traffic signal poles during the A2 upgrade in Antrim. The Sapa EN12899 certified aluminium traffic signal poles also carry an EN12767 passive safe classification. They feature a low-access door and a tapered design with a Ø114mm root, making them suitable for installation in RS115 sockets.

IPL group also supplied break-away plugs for the electrical cabling. This, along with the TSP and RS socket foundation, provides a greater level of road infrastructure safety. It forms the basis for a cost-effective maintenance programme that minimises disruption for road users.
