As the use of electric vehicles becomes more popular, Manchester City Council has installed Electromotive CYC (charge your car) points at the Etihad stadium car park.
As public charging networks are still in the early stages of development, the technology is evolving, and new charging systems are being released on a regular basis. The Retention Socket was chosen as it offers a future-proofing solution for this rapidly changing technology.
Existing CYC points can be removed and replaced with the latest charger points, eliminating the need to dig into concrete. This allows for minimal disruption to the public and keeps management costs down, requiring only a small workforce to undergo the work.
