In 2009, as part of the National Development Plan, an Historic Trails Initiative was introduced by Fáilte Ireland, which invested in 43 historic trails nationwide. This initiative was for the provision of a range of heritage signs to develop self-guided historic trails throughout Ireland's many historic towns and cities.

IPL group worked closely with many local authorities across the country on their signage requirements and carefully crafted fingerposts, display cases, and plaques to suit their specifications.
