Product Overview

The SITRANS FC720/FC740 are part of the SITRANS FC700 series of multi-parameter Coriolis flowmeter systems designed for large pipes and high flows. These flowmeters are rugged and provide superior performance under very tough operating conditions. They combine an FCS700 sensor with either an FCT020 transmitter for the FC720 model or an FCT040 transmitter for the FC740 model. The design features dual-curved measuring tubes with optimum decoupling from external stresses and vibrations.

Features & Construction

• Design: The sensors can be combined with either compact or remote transmitters.
• Wetted Parts: Wetted parts are made of dual-curved AISI 316L stainless steel or Alloy 22.
• Process Connections: The process connection is via flanges.
• Measuring Variables: Primary measured variables include mass flow, density, and temperature. The transmitter can also calculate volume flow and, for the FCT040 model, percent concentration and net flow of a two-component mixture.
• Rupture Disc: A rupture disc is available with certain specifications, located on the sensor housing. Its bursting pressure is 20 bar.

Installation & Maintenance

• Installation: The flowmeters can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or on an incline. Straight pipe runs at the inlet or outlet are not typically required. The measuring tubes should be filled with fluid during measurement as entrained gas may result in errors.
• Maintenance: A self-verification function performs a "tube health check" to monitor key diagnostics, helping to indicate whether preventive maintenance action is required.
