Product Overview

The SITRANS FC620/FC640 are part of the SITRANS FC600 series of Coriolis flowmeter systems, designed for extreme conditions. These flowmeters are rugged and provide superior performance under very tough operating conditions, including resistance to high temperatures, pressures, and corrosive fluids. The systems are composed of a separate FCS600 sensor and an FCT transmitter, with the FC620 using the FCT020 transmitter and the FC640 using the FCT040. They feature dual-curved measuring tubes with optimum decoupling from external stresses and vibrations.

Features & Construction

• Design: Dual-curved measuring tubes with optimum decoupling from external stresses and vibrations. The sensor and transmitter are connected via a cable, allowing them to be installed in different locations.
• Measuring Variables: Primary measured variables include mass flow, density, and temperature. The transmitter can also calculate volume flow and, with the FCT040 model, percent concentration and partial component flow rate of a two-component mixture.
• Wetted Parts: Stainless steel 316L or Alloy 22.
• Process Connections: Options include flange or thread connections, as well as high-pressure autoclave adaptors.
• Temperature Range: Process temperature ranges from -196°C to +350°C, depending on the specific model.

• Nominal Flow Rates: 45 kg/h to 100,000 kg/h.
• Accuracy: Mass flow accuracy for liquids is ±0.1% with the FCT040 transmitter. Density accuracy is from ±0.5 kg/m³.

Installation & Maintenance

• Installation: The flowmeters can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or on an incline, and straight pipe runs are not usually required. It is recommended to keep the measuring tubes filled with fluid during measurement.
• Maintenance: The system includes a self-verification function that performs a "tube health check" by monitoring key diagnostics such as tube stiffness, driver, and pickups. This helps to indicate when preventive maintenance is required.
