Product Overview

The SITRANS FC520/FC540 are part of the SITRANS FC500 series of universal Coriolis multi-parameter flowmeter systems, designed for routine and hygienic applications. The systems are composed of a separate FCS500 sensor and an FCT transmitter, with the FC520 using the FCT020 transmitter and the FC540 using the FCT040. They feature dual-curved AISI 316L stainless steel measuring tubes and are designed to allow for the installation of the sensor and transmitter in different locations.

Features & Construction

• Design: Dual-curved AISI 316L stainless steel measuring tubes. The sensor and transmitter are connected via a cable, allowing them to be installed in different locations.
• Measuring Variables: Primary measured variables include mass flow, density, and temperature. The transmitter can also calculate volume flow and, with the FCT040 model, percent concentration and partial component flow rate of a two-component mixture.
• Process Connections: Options include flange, thread, or hygienic clamp connections.
• Compatible Fluids: The system is compatible with liquids, gases, and mixtures, solutions, emulsions, suspensions, and slurries.
• Temperature Range: The standard process temperature range is -50 to 150°C, with a medium-range option up to 260°C available for long-neck sensors.

• Accuracy: Mass flow accuracy for liquids is ±0.1% with the FCT040 transmitter. Density accuracy is from ±0.5 kg/m³.

Installation & Maintenance

• Installation: The flowmeters can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or on an incline, and straight pipe runs are not usually required. It is recommended to keep the measuring tubes filled with fluid during measurement.
• Maintenance: The system includes a self-verification function that performs a "tube health check" by monitoring key diagnostics such as tube stiffness, driver, and pickups. This helps to indicate when preventive maintenance is required.
