Product Overview

The SIS Mini: Electrical Disconnection System is designed specifically for the single isolation of individual illuminated posts or columns. Each pole is fitted with a small sensor that, in the event of an impact, communicates with the monitor board, triggering complete Low Voltage (LV) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) isolation within 0.2 seconds. The monitor board is pre-fitted inside a small IP67 enclosure and installed within a non-passively safe structure or mini pillar that supplies power to the passive post or column. The system is fully compliant with EN12767:2007 (Electrical Isolation of Passively Safe Structures) and can be used with any type of passively safe column. The SIS Mini can be located up to 1km away from the SIS impact sensor and still guarantee complete electrical isolation within 0.4 seconds of impact. Being an above-ground unit, it simplifies the maintenance of the system, making it safer for engineers and more reliable.

Features & Construction

• SIS Solo Mini unit housed in a standard IP67 enclosure with DIN rail mounting.
• Enclosure accommodates one circuit only.
• SIS Solo Mini to be mounted on a standard Top Hat DIN rail along with associated shunt trip and DP circuit breaker.
• Requires a feeder pillar or column of a size to accommodate a 230x100 enclosure, along with a cutout with sub fuse facility.
• IP64 rated mechanical impact sensor to be mounted vertically within the structure.
• Cable terminations provided using IP69 plastic compression glands for flexible cables.
• Armoured cables should be terminated in the cutout.
• Optional IP68 rated plugs and sockets can be supplied, installed and secured just below ground level within the structure.
• Columns are to be housed into ductile iron Retention Socket foundation with bottom entry cable access bend.
