Product Overview

The HAWLE Non Return Valve (Ball Check Valve) reliably prevents medium backflow by automatically closing. The disc opens automatically when the medium flows in the direction indicated by the arrow on the valve body. This range includes models No. 9830 and No. 9831, both designed for PN 16 pressure rating (PN 25 on request). The face-to-face dimensions comply with EN 558-1 GR 48 (DIN 3202 T1 - F6). Flanges are to EN 1092-2 (DIN 28605), drilled to DIN 2501-PN 10 (standard), with PN 16 for DN 200mm and above available on request.

Features & Construction

• General: All models have a disc that opens and closes automatically based on flow direction. Axle of the disc shaft must be fully horizontal during installation.
• No. 9831 (Standard version, without lever and counterweight):
  • Body: Ductile iron GJS 400/500, epoxy-powder coated.
  • Disc/disc lever: Elastomer/polyamide (suitable for potable water).
  • Bolts, nuts: Stainless steel A2.
  • Disc gasket: Elastomer (suitable for potable water).
  • Shaft: Polyamide.
  • Gaskets: Elastomer (suitable for potable water).
  • Opening pressure: min. 0.03 bar.
  • Closing pressure: min. 0.5 bar (tight).
• No. 9830 (Version with lever and counterweight, on request):
  • Body: Grey iron, epoxy powder coated.
  • Disc gasket: Klingerit.
  • Other materials generally similar to 9831 where not specified differently.
  • Opening pressure: min. 0.03 bar.
  • Closing pressure: min. 0.1 bar (tight).

Installation & Maintenance

• In general, Non Return Valves are designed to be installed in horizontal pipe lines.
• Installation in sloping and vertical pipe lines is possible if the flow of the medium is upwards.
• Direction of flow must align with the arrow indicated on the valve body.
• Axle of the disc shaft has to be fully horizontal.
