Product Overview

The HAWLE-E3 Valve is a resilient seated gate valve designed according to EN 1171, EN 1074-1, and EN 1074-2, featuring a smooth, straight-through bore. It has flanges sized in accordance with EN 1092-2. This valve boasts a double bayonet O-ring carrier that connects the spindle to the bonnet, allowing for a fully encased, uniform epoxy powder-coated bonnet for significantly improved corrosion protection. The wedge is flexible and fully linked in vulcanised elastomer to the wedge nut, which dampens vibration during opening and closing. The wedge nut also has an extended thread length, allowing for significantly higher torques before breaking compared to standard designs. The E3 Valve is 100% suitable for buried installations and cleaning with a cleaning pig. It offers easy refitting for position indicators and automatic actuators on the standard bonnet (DN 50 to DN 200) and is suitable for operation by automatic actuators.

Features & Construction

• Body: Ductile iron, EN-GJS-400-15 according to EN 1563, epoxy powder coated inside and outside (min. 250 µm thickness, zero porosity, min. 16 N/mm² adhesion).
• Bonnet/Centering Flange: Epoxy powder coated.
• Wedge: Ductile iron (EN-GJS-400-15 according to EN 1563), or brass CuZn40Pb2 (DN 50), fully vulcanised with elastomer.
• Wedge Nut: Non-ferrous metal, flexible and fully linked to wedge by vibration damping vulcanised elastomer, with thread length > 1.2 x spindle diameter.
• Wedge Guide: POM.
• Spindle: Duplex stainless-steel (1.4162 PREN value - 26) with rolled thread and flat-rolled anti-friction surface; non-rising spindle, polished in O-ring sealing area.
• O-ring Carrier: Brass CuZn40Pb2 with double bayonet connection (DN 50-DN 200).
• Sealing: EPDM elastomer (O-rings, bonnet gasket, centering flange gasket, lip seals, wiper ring).
• Covering Cap/Edge Protection Ring: PE (Polyethylene).
• Sliding Discs & Centering Ring: Brass CuZn21Si3P.
