The Sigrist ColorPlus 3 SAK 254 is a bypass absorption meter designed for the on-line measurement of UV absorption (SAK 254). UV absorption serves as an indicator of water pollution caused by certain dissolved organic substances, such as aromatic compounds or humic substances from the soil. The ColorPlus 3 offers the option of online colour measurement (Hazen). A long-lived xenon flash lamp is used as a light source, exhibiting very low intensity loss over time. The medium is measured using two optical path lengths, allowing for the determination of any soiling. The measured value is automatically corrected, and the instrument informs the user when the measuring cell requires cleaning. The PVC cover can be removed without tools, providing free access to the optics for simple cleaning. The instrument indicates any necessary maintenance. The control unit SICON selectively displays values, graphs, status, and alarms on a state-of-the-art touchscreen with a colour display. Internal data storage enables the visualisation of measurements over the last 32 days. The instrument is used in the treatment of drinking water as well as in the treatment of process water in various kinds of industries.
