The CLA-VAL 90-01: Pressure Reducing Valve is an accurate, pilot-operated regulator that automatically reduces a higher inlet pressure to a steady lower downstream pressure, regardless of changing flow rate and/or varying inlet pressure. It is designed to hold downstream pressure to a pre-determined limit, with the main valve and pilot valve closing drip-tight when downstream pressure exceeds this setting. An optional check feature can be added to prevent return flow if a pressure reversal occurs. Part of the CLA-VAL SERIES 90, it offers sensitive and accurate pressure control with easy adjustment and maintenance. It is a simple, reliable, and accurate valve, ensuring completely automatic operation.

Installation & Maintenance

• Installation: The CLA-VAL 90-01 is designed to hold downstream pressure to a pre-determined limit. It can be installed as part of a typical pressure reducing valve station, even using two valves in parallel for wide ranges of flow rates. It is recommended to select the appropriate size valve to handle the pump output at an acceptable head loss, avoiding oversizing. A downstream pressure relief valve is recommended for this type of application.
• Maintenance: Periodic cleaning of the strainer (if part of assembly) is recommended. The needle valve should be open ½ to 1 turn. System valves should be open upstream and downstream, and air removed from the main valve cover and pilot system at all high points.
