The CLA-VAL 60-81: Pump Control Valve, part of the CLA-VAL SERIES 60, is a pilot-operated valve specifically designed for installation on the discharge of pumps. Its primary function is to prevent pipeline surges caused by the starting and stopping of pumps, ensuring smooth and safe operation. The valve manages the pump's starting and stopping sequence, allowing it to start against a closed valve and gradually open to full pumping head. During shutdown, it slowly closes while the pump runs, and a limit switch assembly ultimately stops the pump when the valve is fully closed. In case of a power failure, a built-in Hydraulic Check Feature immediately closes the valve to protect the pump from reverse flow.

Installation & Maintenance

• Installation: Designed for installation on the discharge of pumps to prevent pipeline surges. The valve should be installed as shown in typical assembly diagrams. Flexible conduit should be used for electrical connections to the solenoid control and the limit switch.
