This valve is designed to open when the liquid level reaches a preset low level, but it uniquely maintains a constant upstream pressure to prevent "robbing" of the upper zone's pressure. Therefore, the tank is filled only when upper zone demand is low enough (i.e., high upstream pressure) to allow the valve to open. As part of the CLA-VAL SERIES 50, it also functions as a sustaining valve, accurately maintaining a minimum preset inlet pressure regardless of changing flow rate.
